Actor Srikanth, who is now in the custody of Tamil Nadu police over his alleged involvement in a drug case, is reported to have shown remorse over his past deeds. As per reports, Srikanth expressed his concern for his family and even in the bail plea cited the urge to meet his son and family.
“I never knew it was such a crime, and I committed a mistake without knowing much of the impact it would create. I fear for the education of my son and daughter. I regret when I think about my son. I can’t live without him,” Said the actor to police, according to reports from Times Entertainment.
At a time when nepotism was sprawling in Kollywood, Srikanth made his entry into the film world with ‘Roja Koottam’ directed by Sasi. He had no godfathers nor any previous connection in the business, but decided to give it a shot. After doing a slew of budget movies, Srikanth found a footing with the massive success of ‘Kaana Kanden’ and ‘Pambarakannale’. He was later cast alongside Vijay and Jiiva in the Tamil remake of ‘Three Idiots’, which went on to become a massive hit in the industry.
However, certain feuds within his family and the ensuing controversies put a spoke in the wheels of his career. Srikanth’s marriage ended up in a tangle after he denounced the relationship just days after having registered the marriage with his wife, Vandana. He would later end up accusing his wife of home invasion with goons, only to make matters worse.
It took some time for the dust to settle between the two, and the problems were sorted out through counselling sessions. Srikanth is still married to Vandana, and the couple have two children.
