Once a much-loved actress among Malayali audiences, Mohini had starred in several hit films, including Pattabhishekam and Sainyam. She has been away from the film industry for many years. Now, the actress has revealed that she had faced unpleasant experiences during her acting career. She shared this in an interview with a Tamil YouTube channel.
Mohini said the incident happened while working in the Tamil film Kanmani, directed by R.K. Selvamani. She alleged that she was pressured to wear swimsuits and perform intimate scenes.
“The swimsuit scene was planned by the director. I refused and even cried. I told him I didn’t know how to swim. Shooting was stopped for half a day because of this. How could I learn swimming wearing only a half-dress in front of male trainers? At that time, there were no female swimming trainers,” she said.
The actress explained that this happened during the filming of a song sequence. “We had already shot for half a day. Then they insisted the same scene had to be filmed in Ooty, or else the shoot would not continue. It was a glamorous film, and I appeared in it without any interest. I only did it to avoid halting the production,” Mohini added.
