Actor Suresh Gopi arrived at the venue of Association of Malayalam Movies Artists (AMMA) after a long hiatus. The actor was the chief guest of Unarvu, a programme of health check-up camp and a gathering of members. His colleagues received him by draping a shawl.
Suresh Gopi stayed away from AMMA following a dispute over a Gulf programme. Though he stayed away from the organisation, he said that whenever an important decision was made would discuss with him.
A dispute that broke out after the programme ‘Arabian Dreams’ led by AMMA in 1997 made him stay away from the organisation. The same show was performed in five venues for charity.
Suresh Gopi had informed that an amount of Rs 5 lakh would be given to AMMA by the organiser. However, he did not keep his word. The situation turned worse and led to a dispute. The actor was asked to pay a fine of Rs 2 lakh. The actor stayed away from AMMA after this.
