'Several people from the film industry discussed the idea of an organization focused on progressive ideas for those working in all sections of cinema. The concept is to have a Progressive Malayalam filmmakers Association.
Once the association is formally established, we are open to adopting a new name if necessary. Our vision is for an inclusive industry where everyone, from producers to those sticking posters, is considered filmmakers. The governing body of the association will have representation from all sections of the film industry. The leadership will be democratically elected after its formal establishment. Until then, a temporary committee will oversee operations. Following the official launch of the association, a membership campaign will commence. The association will take full shape after the subsequent elections,' read the release shared on Aashiq Abu's Instagram page.
