Meera Vasudev is an actress who became popular among the Malayali audience through the Mohanlal-Blessy film Thanmathra. The actress was recently in the news after ending her third marriage. Now, her comments praising superstar Mohanlal have gained attention. In an interview with Red Carpet, Meera revealed that Mohanlal personally came to her and apologised before filming the famous intimate scene in Thanmathra. She said this showed the actor's professionalism and empathy.
"That particular scene was more challenging for Mohanlal sir than for me because he had to perform it fully nude. Before the shoot, he came to me and politely said sorry in advance in case I felt uncomfortable," Meera said.
Meera added that director Blessy and the team created a completely private and safe environment for filming the scene. "Several leading actresses had turned down the film because of that intimate sequence. During the discussion about the film, Blessy sir spoke to me about the lovemaking scene. When asked why the scene had to be included in the movie, he explained the emotional context behind it, and I understood that the scene was necessary for Rameshan’s partner to feel the intensity of his struggles in the same way," she said.
A few days ago, Meera revealed through an Instagram post that she had ended her third marriage. She separated from cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankavu. The two had met on the set of the serial Kudumbavilakku and later fell in love. Meera wrote that she has been single since August 2025 and is going through one of the most peaceful and beautiful phases of her life.
Although she is not originally from Kerala, Meera Vasudev won Malayali hearts with her unique acting style. She married Vipin last year, which was her third marriage. She has a son named Ariha from her second marriage to actor John Kokken. After her first two marriages ended, she had been living as a single mother. Vipin, who worked as a cameraman for Kudumbavilakku and other serials where Meera played the lead, has also worked on several documentaries.
