Actress Roshna Ann Roy has spoken candidly about the negative societal perceptions surrounding those who work in the film industry. In an interview with Kaumudi Movies, she addressed the stigma that labels film professionals as "bad people," which she believes leads to the barrage of negative comments on social media.
"All I can say is that you shouldn't belittle someone who has walked the road alone," Roshna shared, reflecting on the challenges she has faced since childhood. Despite these hardships, she remains unfazed by social media attacks and other issues. "I have no problem with anyone, but don’t go out of your way to cause trouble. However, if I’ve endured so much pain, I won't hesitate to go to any extent," she asserted.
Roshna also discussed the issue of sexual harassment, arguing that it cannot be justified by a person's choice of clothing. "What to wear is a personal matter. Remember when low-waist pants were in fashion for boys? Did we feel anything inappropriate? Why do men feel that way? The truth is, it's their minds and perceptions that are flawed. People's thoughts have become so vulgar," she said.
She further criticized the notion that women should stay indoors to avoid harassment, pointing out the growing need for education on issues like good touch and bad touch. Although she has never personally faced sexual assault, thanks to a strict upbringing, Roshna expressed concern over the deteriorating state of society. "We've reached a point where we need to teach children about good touch and bad touch," she added, highlighting the importance of awareness and education.
