NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah had directed Pakistani nationals living in India to leave the country. According to that many have left India. Sarada Bai, a Pakistani national, has come forward with a request to allow her to live in India.

Sarada has been living in Odisha for the past 35 years. Sarada is the daughter-in-law of a Hindu family in Bolangir. She married Mahesh Kukreja years ago. The couple's son and daughter are Indians. The Odisha police had asked Sarada to leave the country as soon as possible.

The authorities said that her visa has been cancelled and legal action will be taken if she does not leave the country. Sarada was not granted Indian citizenship despite having all the important documents.

Sarada has requested not to separate her from her family. She has appealed with folded hands to allow her to live in the country where she has been living for more than three decades.

‘I was first in Koraput and then came to Bolangir. I have no one in Pakistan. Even my passport is very old. I am requesting the government, please let me live here, I have two children and grandchildren. I want to live here as an Indian,’ said Sarada Bai.
