NEW DELHI: In a bid to up the ante in the election season, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a scathing attack on the BJP, just one day after coming out from Tihar jail on bail. Kejriwal said the BJP will not just jail the opposition candidates, but soon would incarcerate their senior party leaders.
Kejriwal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's purported ‘one nation one leader’ policy has already wreaked havoc on the mercurial rise of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Delhi CM also named BJP veterans including Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Shivraj Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, Manohar Lal Khattar and Raman Singh, to show how Modi’s authoritarian notions have cut short the political career of all these veterans.
Kejriwal also said that if Modi wins the next election, he will remove the UP Chief Minister from the post within two months.
“Our country has withered every possible challenge and has survived for ages. So if a dictator tries to wield control, the people would respond by ousting him from the seat. After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, if the BJP-led NDA comes to power again, Chief Ministers including Pinarayi Vijayan, MK Stalin and Mamata Banerjee will be jailed. If they can jail somebody like Kejriwal, they can do it to anyone” said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal added that the NDA government will not remain in power at the centre after June 4.
“The India Front will form a government at the Centre. AAP will be a part of it.” Kejriwal vowed to reinstate full statehood to Delhi if elected to power.
