Aisha Sultana released after interrogation, no arrest recorded; asked to remain on the island for three days

KAVARATTI: Filmmaker Aisha Sultana, who is facing sedition charges in Lakshadweep, was released by the Kavaratti police after interrogation. The police have not recorded her arrest. She has been asked to remain on the island for three days.

Aisha appeared for questioning along with her lawyer at the police headquarters in Kavaratti around 4 pm. The case was registered against Aisha Sultana following a complaint lodged by the BJP Lakshadweep president over her "bioweapon" reference.
