KOLKATA: One person was injured after a blast occurred during Sri Ram Navami celebrations in the Shaktipur area of Murshidabad district in West Bengal. The blast took place on Wednesday evening. A woman sustained injuries and was admitted to Murshidabad Medical College.
The incident took place during the rally which was held as part of the celebrations. The police have launched an investigation and are checking whether it was a bomb blast. Meanwhile, videos of some people pelting stones from the sides during the Ram Navami procession are circulating on social media.
The police said that the situation is under control and more forces have been deployed in the area. The BJP unit in Bengal alleged that some people pelted stones at the rally and vandalized shops during the celebrations.
