KOLKATA: West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari's attempt to prevent the return of BJP leaders to the Trinamool Congress in the state has received a setback. A section of MLAs stayed away from the meeting between the BJP MLAs led by Suvendu Adhikari and the Governor. The meeting was called to inform the Governor about some inappropriate incidents taking place in the state and to discuss other important matters.
Of the 74 BJP MLAs, 24 were absent from the meeting. With this, the rumor that more leaders will leave the BJP and return to Trinamool was strengthened. Report also claimed that many of the MLAs were not ready to accept the leadership of the Suvendu Adhikari.
