KOCHI: American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla opened its first all-in-one retail experience centre in India at Orchid Park in Gurugram. Unlike its showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi, the experience centre will offer consultation, booking and test drive services.
Tesla, which first entered the Indian market this year, has so far introduced two variants of its Model Y cars imported from Shanghai. Due to the 70 per cent import duty, Indian customers will have to pay 30 per cent more than in the United States. So far, 118 Tesla vehicles have been registered in India. The company is trying to expand its operations in the country in a phased manner.
