PUNE: A shocking incident occurred in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district, where a 19-year-old woman gave birth to a baby boy on a moving bus and then threw the newborn out onto the road. The police have arrested Ritika Dhere and Sheikh Altaf, who claims to be her husband.

The incident happened around 6:30 AM on Tuesday on the Pathri-Selu road. A passerby noticed the couple throwing a cloth-wrapped object from the bus and informed the police via a helpline. The bus driver also witnessed the act, but Altaf misled everyone by claiming his wife was vomiting.

Upon receiving the alert, the police stopped the bus and took the couple into custody. During questioning, the couple admitted that they threw the baby away because they couldn’t afford to raise him. Sadly, the newborn died after being thrown onto the road.

Though they claimed to be married, they were unable to produce any official documentation to prove their marriage. Both Dhere and Altaf are originally from Parbhani and had been living in Pune for the past one and a half years.

After being taken into custody, Dhere was sent to a hospital for medical treatment. A case has been registered against the couple, and further investigation is underway.
