Himachal shocker; 65-year-old grandmother raped by 25-year-old grandson

SHIMLA: A 65-year-old woman who was living alone was raped by her grandson. The shocking incident took place in Rohru in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The police arrested the 25-year-old grandson on the basis of a complaint.

The woman had been living alone after her husband's death. The incident came to light when the woman filed a complaint with the police that her grandson had come to her house after the afternoon of July 3, raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

Police said a case has been registered under sections 64(2) (rape), 332(B) (trespassing) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. The accused was arrested on Tuesday, police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police Pranav Chauhan said the case is sensitive and a thorough investigation is underway.
