Hit and run; Rudra actress Nandini Kashyap arrested for culpable homicide

GUWAHATI: A 21-year-old man died after being hit by Assamese actress Nandini Kashyap's car. The deceased has been identified as Samiul Haque, a student of Nalbari Polytechnic and a part-time worker with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). The Guwahati police have arrested the actress for hitting the man with her car and then fleeing.

The incident took place at 3 am on Friday. Samiul Haque was returning home when he was hit by a speeding SUV. The car then ran over him and did not stop. The CCTV footage of this has also been released.

Samiul's friends followed the car that did not stop after the accident. They saw the actress trying to hide the car near an apartment. The CCTV footage also shows an argument between the youths and Nandini.

Samiul, who was undergoing treatment for serious injuries, died last night. The police took Nandini's car into custody. Although questioned, she denied the allegations. A case has been filed against Nandini under culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
