CHENNAI: The police officials who searched Erode railway station and bus stand in Tamil Nadu after receiving a threat call of bomb blast were unable to find anything. In the investigation that followed, the police arrested a 34-year-old man who made the fake call. He confessed that he did this to go to jail. Santhosh Kumar, a native of Coimbatore, did this so that he could eat free food in jail.
When the police officers interrogated him after the arrest, he revealed that he was jobless and had no money to eat. TShe police registered a case and produced him in court. Santosh Kumar has now been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
