Lorry rams into parked car near Ramanathapuram; tragic death for Ayyappa devotees

CHENNAI: Five people, including four Ayyappa devotees, died in a car accident in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. The accident occurred at 3 am today. The victims are natives of Andhra Pradesh. The accident occurred while the devotees were returning after visiting Sabarimala.

Mushtaq Ahmed (30), a native of Kilakarai, and natives of Andhra, including Ramachandra Rao (55), Apparao Naidu (40), Bandaru Chandra Rao (42), and Ramar (45) died in the accident.

The car with Ayyappa devotees was parked on the roadside during the wee hours of Saturday morning as all of them fell into sleep. Meanwhile, a truck, passing through this route, lost control and rammed into the parked car. Seven people were seriously injured in the accident.
