Love marriage; Parents cut off daughter's husband's nose in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: On Thursday night in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a horrific incident unfolded where the parents of a young woman took vengeance on their daughter's husband by cutting off his nose. The victim, Chelram Thak (23) had married a girl from his own village last March. Initially, the girl's parents reported her missing but upon finding out about their marriage, both were released by the court as they were adults. The couple then rented a house in Pali and began living there with Chelram's brother Sujaram nearby.

On the fateful night, the girl's relatives visited their rented house, seemingly to reconcile and invited the couple home claiming no objection to the marriage. However, upon reaching Jodhpur, they brutally attacked Chelram, even cutting off his nose when they reached Janwar. After the assault, they abandoned Chelram on the road and absconded with the girl.

After Chelram informed his relatives, they rushed him to the hospital and the police subsequently registered a case against five people including two brothers of the girl, involved in the assault.
