More than 100 students fall ill in government school in Tamil Nadu due to gas leak

CHENNAI: Investigation has been intensified in the incident where more than 100 students of a government school in Tamil Nadu were hospitalized as they got ill. The incident took place in Hosur in Krishnagiri district yesterday. The preliminary conclusion pointed towards a toxic gas leak.

The students of Class 6and Class 7 had suddenly vomited and collapsed yesterday evening. The students were immediately admitted to the hospital. The district administration and the police reached the school and conducted an investigation. They inspected whether there was a leak in the septic tank or if there was a toxic gas leak from the nearby industrial centre. The students are not in critical condition. More than sixty children are still undergoing treatment.
