NEW DELHI: Reports said 80 terrorists were killed in India’s military response through Operation Sindoor. The Indian army retaliated by targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). India carried out cross-border strikes targeting nine centers associated with banned terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The attacks reportedly destroyed the hideouts of the terrorists.
The two biggest strikes were carried out in Bahawalpur and Muridke, which are Jaish-e-Mohammed strongholds. It is reported that 25 to 30 terrorists were killed in each center. In Muridke, the target was the Masjid wa Markaz Taiba, the nerve center and headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba. This place has long been considered a 'terror nursery' of Pakistan.
Intelligence agencies are still verifying how many terrorists were killed. Initial estimates suggest that 80 to 90 terrorists were killed. The Indian military strike destroyed launch pads, training camps and radicalization centers run by Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which are designated as terrorist organizations under UN sanctions.
