PAHALGAM: Security forces have released images of the terrorists responsible for the attack that claimed the lives of 29 innocent people. Photos of four terrorists have been made public, and three of them — Asif Fuji, Suleiman Shah, and Abu Talha — have been identified. All three are reportedly linked to the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Security forces have intensified the manhunt for them. Reports suggest that six terrorists, including two locals from Kashmir, carried out the attack. It is also suspected that two of them are foreign nationals. The Resistance Front, a local wing of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The operation was reportedly led by Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Kasuri.
A motorcycle without a number plate was found at the scene, which is believed to have been used by the attackers. Authorities are also trying to find the details of the bike.
The shocking terror attack took place yesterday in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in the Anantnag district, often referred to as the 'Mini Switzerland' due to its scenic hill ranges. The attack targeted tourists who had come to Baisaran for trekking — a hill station accessible only by foot or horseback. An image of one of the terrorists who opened fire on the tourists had already been released earlier.
