
MUMBAI: Famous actress and playback singer Sulakshana Pandit passed away at the age of 71. She died last night after suffering cardiac arrest. Her brother and music composer Lalit Pandit announced the news of her death.
Sulakshana Pandit breathed her last at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after a prolonged illness. 'She passed away at around 7 pm. She breathed her last at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital,' informed Lalit Pandit.
Sulakshana Pandit made her acting debut opposite Sanjeev Kumar in Uljhan in 1975. She had worked with all the leading stars of the time, including Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna. She became popular with films including Sankoch, Hera Pheri, Khandaan, Dharam Khanta, Do Wakht Ki Roti and Gora. Sulakshana has sung songs in many languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Odia, and Gujarati.
