
AHMEDABAD: Two foreign nationals were taken into custody after authorities seized 203 kilograms of suspected narcotic substances in a joint operation off the Gujarat coast. The operation was carried out around 140 nautical miles from the shore by the Indian Coast Guard and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad, following specific intelligence inputs about drug smuggling through the sea route.
Officials intercepted an Iranian boat near the International Maritime Boundary Line around midnight on the previous day. After conducting initial checks at sea, the vessel was escorted to the Porbandar coast for detailed inspection. Authorities confirmed that 203 kg of narcotic substances were recovered during the operation. The two foreign nationals onboard have been taken into custody and are currently being questioned.
