BENGALURU: There is a twist in the sexual controversy case related to Prajwal Revanna, JDS MP and grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. One of the complainants gave a statement before the National Commission for Women that she lodged a complaint against Prajwal Revanna after being threatened by a group posing as police. This was informed by National Commission for Women.

Shortly, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy came forward against the state government and the special investigation team investigating the case. Kumaraswamy said the police took the statement after threatening to file a case against prostitution. He also alleged that the SIT officials threatened the victims with prostitution charges if they did not make a statement in favor of the Congress government.

‘The investigating officers are going to the doorsteps of the victims and threatening them. Tell us, isn't it a fact that special investigators threaten victims with false prostitution cases? Is this how a case should be investigated. Where have you kept the rescued woman who was kidnapped? Why is she not being produced to the court? Do you support the act of distributing private videos of the victims,' asked Kumaraswamy.

Prajwal Revanna is the son of Deve Gowda's son H D Revanna. Two days before the polling in Hassan constituency in Karnataka on April 26, obscene videos in the name of Prajwal were circulated on social media. The chairperson of the Women's Commission requested Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to order an inquiry into the matter on 25th.

Siddaramaiah ordered an inquiry on the next day of the polls. A special team was entrusted for the investigation. Prajwal won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections for the first time. Hassan was the constituency of HD Deve Gowda from 2004 to 2019.
