INDORE: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that he does not use air conditioners even during the summer season. He explained that this is because of what he called his "Chambal skin," referring to the toughness of people from the Chambal region. He also said that he carries an onion with him to cope with extreme heat. He was speaking at an event held on Sunday in Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh.
"I do not use AC in my car. Even in the extreme heat of May and June, when temperatures touch 51 degrees Celsius, people ask me how I manage it. I tell them it is because of my 'Chambal skin.' Let me tell you one more thing. Though I may look young, my mindset is quite traditional. That is why I keep an onion in my pocket. If you do that, nothing will happen to you. Onions contain elements that help regulate body temperature. So they can be included in salads and other foods. Nowadays, everyone carries big gadgets, but the Communications Minister carries an onion. These are old methods. As Ayurveda progresses, we should not forget such traditional knowledge,” Scindia said.
