‘All know that I drink and smoke’; don’t use synthetic drugs, says Vedan 

KOCHI: Hiran Das Murali known by his stage name Vedan reiterated that he uses ganja. All know that I drink and smoke. I don’t use synthetic drugs, clarified Vedan.

The arrest of Vedan was registered in the case of wearing leopard tooth like locket in his chain. He said that he is not sure whether the leopard tooth is real. It will be sent to Hyderabad for testing. Vedan said that he doesn’t know Renjith Kumbidi who presented the leopard-tooth to him.

When the media asked him from where he got the leopard tooth, he said, ‘there is no scope talking about it now’. The investigating officers said that he is cooperating with the interrogation.

Vedan was released on bail as only 6 grams of ganja were seized from his flat. However, using leopard’s tooth as locket in his chain is a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison. Vedan of Thrissur and eight members of his music band were arrested in the raid conducted by Hill Palace SHO L Yesudas at his flat in Thrippunithura at 11 am yesterday.

In addition to the ganja, Rs 9.5 lakh and nine mobile phones were recovered from his flat. Vedan revealed that the cash was received for booking the event. The forest department registered a case against him after he went on talking.
