Man kills father after argument during drinking session

KILIMANOOR: A man was killed by his son in a fight that erupted while drinking alcohol. The deceased Rajan (60) was killed by his son Rajesh (28) of Melathil House in Enthannoor Colony in Panapamkunnu around 10 pm on Wednesday. The accused who went into hiding after the incident was caught within hours by the Kilimanoor police from Madavoor.

According to the police, Rajan and Rajesh were having a fight while drinking together at home and Rajesh stabbed his father in the neck with glass and strangled him to death.

Rajesh, a tarring worker, was living with his parents after quarreling with his wife. Rajan's wife Sulochana was at a relative's house in Chirayinkeezhu when the incident took place. Only Rajan and his son were in the house. After the murder, Rajesh informed the neighbours before leaving the place. As quarrels were common, no one took Rajesh's words seriously.

On Thursday morning, the neighbours found Rajan strangled to death. A team consisting of Narcotics Cell DySP Rasit, Kilimanoor CI Sanooj, SI Vijith S Nair, Shaji, Rajendran, ASI Tahir, CPOs Shamnad, Arun, Rajith, Shaji, Sunil, Thasin, Sreeraj and shadow team members Dilip, Firoz and Anoop caught the accused.
