Murder of Deepu: Second accused held, Sunil Kumar gave blade, chloroform to Ambili 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sunil Kumar, the second accused in the murder case of quarry owner Deepu in Kaliyakkavilai, has been taken into custody. The investigating team had intensified search for Sunil Kumar, who helped the main accused. The Kaliyakkavilai police caught him from Hosur.

The police said that it was Sunil Kumar who brought the first accused Ambili to the spot and also gave the weapons to him. Ambili told police that the murder conspiracy was hatched by Sunil Kumar. He had also directed Ambili to murder Deepu after making him inhale chloroform. Sunil gave Ambili the gloves and the blade to slit Deepu’s throat.

Sunil is the owner of surgical and medical store. Ambili told police that Sunil Kumar had promised to pick him after the murder but his phone was switched off when called him.

Meantime, reports also came that Sunil Kumar along with his advocate surrendered before the police.

Sunil’s car was found abandoned on the roadside near Kulasekaram Saturday morning. Seeing the vehicle with Kerala registration for more than a day, the locals informed the police. The police were about to issue a look out notice against Sunil. The police had collected the CCTV visuals from nearby.
