VADAKARA: Bomb hurled at the house of RJD member who changed her vote in the Vadakara Block Panchayat President election. A bomb was hurled at the house of Block Panchayat member Rajani Thekethaiyal at around 1:30 am. The attackers also broke the windows of the house. The family came to know about the incident when they opened the door in the morning and found an unexploded steel bomb on the carpet. They said they heard a loud noise in the morning.

Congress's Kottayil Radhakrishnan was elected as the Block Panchayat President in the Vadakara Block Panchayat President election held on Saturday, after Rajini's vote was received by the Congress. There was a big debate about the RJD vote, which was cast for the wrong front. Rajini was suspended by the RJD for changing her vote in violation of the party decision.

Dog squad and bomb squad inspected the spot. Police have collected CCTV footage from nearby and have cordoned off the house.
MLA K.K. Rama demanded action against the attackers. The MLA demanded police protection for the house and that a case be registered under the Explosives Act. Former KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran said that the accused should be arrested immediately.
