Sainaba murder case in Kozhikode; accused Samad remanded, search for co-accused 

KOZHIKODE: Samad (52) of Malappuram Tanur Kunnumpuram, who strangulated a woman and dumped her body into a gorge on the Nadukani ghat road, has been remanded. The woman murdered is Sainaba (52) of Kuttikkattoor in Kozhikode. Samad was produced before the Kozhikode judicial first-class magistrate last night. A search is being conducted for Sulaiman, who assisted Samad in the crime. Sulaiman is from Gudalur.

Sainaba’s husband James alias Muhammadali, had lodged a missing complaint at the Kasaba police on November 8. She went missing on November 7. Sainaba was not at home when her husband, a security employee, reached home the next day after night duty. The cyber police had found that Samad had contacted Sainaba.

Samad confessed to the crime when he was taken into custody from Malapuram on November 12. His statement to the police was that he murdered her with the help of his friend for money and gold. While collecting evidence with the accused, her body was recovered from the gorge.

Meantime, Samad told police a major portion of the gold and money stolen was grabbed by Sulaiman and another team took the remaining gold and cash. The police are trying to trace this team.
