Six-year-old subjected to sexual abuse; accused absconding

KOCHI: A complaint has been filed for sexually abusing a six-year-old at Kalamassery in Ernakulam. She was abused by her neighbor from Idukki. The police have intensified search for the absconding accused. The victim is the daughter of migrant workers. The minor was abused a month ago. The accused went into hiding after her parents filed a complaint with the police. The Kalamassery police have registered a case in the incident.

Meantime, the police have arrested a stepfather for sexually abusing two minor girls. He was arrested for sexually abusing girls aged 13 and 15 in the Karamana police station limits. The accused is Asif Ul Alam (38). He abused them after showing nude videos on his mobile phone. He was arrested in an investigation conducted by the Karamana police based on a report sent from Childline. The accused has been remanded.
