Thief nabbed for stealing iPhone, cash of woman from temple premises

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have arrested the thief, who stole the phone and money of a woman, who came for darshan at the temple in the city. The theft occurred on June 26. The Museum police arrested Sanal Kumar (50) of Thenkavila Kuzhivila Athiyannur for stealing from the bag of the woman who came for darshan at the Hanuman temple in PMG.

The police got a complaint that an Apple iPhone worth Rs 70,000, a Samsung Galaxy 113 phone and Rs 10,000 were stolen from the bag of the woman. Sanal Kumar was arrested in an investigation conducted by examining the CCTV footage of the place. The police said that Sanal, an accused in about fifteen theft cases, has been arrested for theft in the past in similar ways. The police are in the process of producing the accused in court. The suspect was arrested under the leadership of ACP Steward Keeler, circle inspector Vimal, sub inspectors Vipin and Bala Subramaniam.
