Vedan in trouble again; Doctor files sexual abuse complaint against rapper

KOCHI: A case has been registered against rapper Vedan on a sexual abuse complaint. The Thrikkakara police registered a case based on the complaint of a doctor. Her complaint said Vedan sexually abused her on the pretext of marriage. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 376 (2) (n) of the IPC. The complainant has stated that the accused took her to various places and abused her from August 2021 to March 2023. She also told police that he abused her on the pretext of marriage.

Vedan withdrew from the relationship after abusing her continuously. The complainant told police that Vedan's decision had mentally weakened her and that she had not filed a complaint as she was afraid of how people would react. MeToo allegations and complaints were earlier levelled against Vedan. The FIR was registered last night.

Vedan and the complainant became friends via Instagram. Vedan then visited her flat in Kozhikode. It was there Vedan first abused the woman. He later continued the act several times in Kozhikode and Kochi. She said that he had been avoiding her from 2023.
