THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vadakara MLA K K Rema said the Ernakulam CBI court verdict in the Periya double murder case is a blow to the CPM. The CPM, which had been saying that the party had no role in the murder, had opposed the CBI investigation with all its might and had brought senior lawyers from the Supreme Court at a huge cost. We knew about the party's role in the murder. Rema added that the CPM opposed the CBI investigation because they knew in advance that their leaders would be punished.

‘This is not a murder committed by any hired killers. The most prominent CPM leader, a former MLA and district secretariat member, has been proven guilty. The first accused is a local committee member. It was a murder that the party had planned and carried out very carefully. The Periya double murder was an incident that shook Kerala after the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan,' said Rema.

Shafi Parambil MP said the Periya double murder was one committed by the CPM. The list of accused includes local committee member and people from the area committee. A former MLA and also a member of the district secretariat is there. No other evidence is needed to prove that the CPM killed him. Shafi Parambil added that the CPM cannot hide from its responsibility for this.
