47-year-old woman dies after sexual assault; Malayali youth goes into hiding

THRISSUR: A Malayali woman, who was subjected to physical assault and sexual abuse in Bengaluru, died while undergoing treatment in Thrissur. The deceased is a 47-year-old woman from Thrissur. She died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thrissur. Although the initial reports claimed that she was subjected to physical assault, the police's FIR later confirmed that she was also subjected to sexual harassment. The woman, who sustained serious injuries, was on ventilator support at the Jubilee Mission Hospital in Thrissur.

The incident took place on May 3. The woman had gone to Sulibele in Bengaluru for a job at a shelter home taking care of stray dogs. She was brutally assaulted by Bengaluru Malayali Deepak Krishnan, who runs the shelter home. She suffered a serious brain injury and fell unconscious. The Thrissur East Police is investigating the case.

According to the police, Deepak is currently absconding. Earlier, an audio message of the accused admitting to the assault had surfaced. After completing hospital procedures, the body will be sent for post-mortem. Police are now preparing to take further action, including arresting the accused.
