‘I need not respond anymore on the issue, no point in reiterating it,’ says Shafi Parambil

PALAKKAD: Shafi Parambil MP said there is no need to talk more on the issue involving Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. He was speaking to the media after casting his vote in the local body polls. He responded to the question on whether the sexual abuse case against Rahul will be unfavorable for the UDF in the Palakkad municipal elections. He said the shortcomings of the municipality were discussed amongst the people and that the party has taken maximum steps that can be taken on Rahul’s issue.

‘We mainly told the people about the shortcomings of this city administration. Those shortcomings are what should be discussed and have been discussed among the people. I don’t need to respond more on the issue. There is no point in talking about it again. The Congress party has taken very strict action and the people have seen that. The Congress has done everything that a party can do. Everything else is about the legal action. Let it take its own course. What we are trying to convey the people is the shortcomings of the city and the state administrations. The discussion among the people is about the issues including Sabarimala,’ said Shafi Parambil.

Shafi Parambil expressed confidence that the UDF will garner a better win than in the previous elections and that their seats and governing bodies will increase. Shafi Parambil MP accused the BJP and CPM workers for unleashing violence against Congress workers. He opined that the police are protecting those unleashing violence. Shafi Parambil alleged that the Center is trying to subvert democracy through SIR.
