‘Internal issues will be resolved within party', M V Govindan dismisses allegations of losing money

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary M V Govindan said the district committee itself will discuss and resolve the issues that have arisen within the party in Kannur. Rejecting the allegation that money was lost from the martyrs' fund, he clarified that not a single penny was lost from the fund. Govindan was speaking to the media in Thiruvananthapuram. Matters including disciplinary action against P V Kunhikrishnan have been left to the district committee to decide. He said that appropriate action will be taken after discussions within the party in this regard.

M V Govindan clarified that the people are recognizing the planned campaigns being carried out by right-wing forces to destroy Kerala's secular tradition. He told media that the previous false stories, including on the Sabarimala issue, have now been dispelled and this is clear from the people's responses.

The party's home visit programmes have helped to bring it closer to the people. Through these visits, leaders and workers were able to expose false stories against the government. He said that this contact made the party realize the importance of standing with the people.

He clarified that the controversies regarding SIR are a blatant lie. The right wing had widely propagated this as a plan of the Pinarayi government and to expel minorities eyeing elections. M V Govindan said that he would move forward by convincing the people of the falsity of such propaganda. He said the party would resist any move to destroy the unity of Kerala and would move forward by exposing all false propaganda.
