‘People will decide on third Pinarayi government, Rahul was presented as an investment in future'

KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that it is for the people to decide on the third consecutive term of the Pinarayi government. He said the MPs should act as ambassadors of Kerala. The chief minister added that the Congress presented Rahul Mamkootathil as an investment in the future. He was speaking to the media in Kochi.

'Members of Parliament are responsible for achieving things the government needs. John Brittas is an MP with excellent intervention skills. All members should stand together to achieve the needs of the state. That is why a meeting of members of Parliament is called before the assembly session. John Brittas is making that intervention as a Rajya Sabha member. The MPs should act as ambassadors of Kerala. They have a responsibility to achieve the needs of the state. Otherwise, no other kind of action should be expected.

The third Pinarayi government is a matter for the people to decide. The party has to decide about me. It is not a thing to be discussed now. Some even said that the Rahul issue was a collusion by the government. The police are taking effective steps. The things exposed are not normal ones. Aren't they sexual perversions that shock the human conscience? Is all this in line with public service? The Congress leadership knew about these things long ago. Yet, Rahul was introduced as an investment in the future. Any party should try to keep such people away. The Indian National Congress is a party with a great tradition. The present stand is destroying that tradition.

The party will not protect the accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case. An investigation is underway under the supervision of the high court. There is nothing more to comment on it. The Enforcement Directorate's notice against KIIFB in the masala bond case is ridiculous. The notice was sent with elections in mind. We did development through KIIFB. Everything was done with the permission of the Reserve Bank of India,' said the chief minister.
