THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former mayor and Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prasanth is like a brother to me and requested him to vacate his office, said Sasthamangalam councilor R Sreelekha. She said that she requested the MLA to vacate his office in the building of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation in order to run my office smoothly. She said that she did not ask him to vacate immediately. Just requested him. However, Prasanth told her that it was impossible and asked her to evict him if she can.
'I understand that he may have taken the building when he was former mayor. I requested as his elder sister. I don’t have a recorder on my phone. To my knowledge, I understand that he has that on his phone. You can examine it. You can directly hear my pleading tone and the way he spoke.
I don’t think that there is such an agreement regarding the office. Since it is a corporation building, rent is being paid. I understand that the previous corporation administrators have done him a favor. I need an office to work as a councilor? There is no such facility. People coming to see me, don’t even have a place to sit. You, the media, decide what I should do on this occasion,’ said Sreelekha.
The controversy arose after councilor R Sreelekha demanded Prasanth to vacate his rented office in the corporation building in Sasthamangalam. Prasanth said that Sreelekha could not have taken the decision alone and that her act is unethical. This demand came after the BJP came to power in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Sreelekha called Prasanth on the phone and asked him to vacate his office.
