16 people test negative for Nipah; Govt lifts restrictions

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 16 people with Nipah symptoms tested negative for the disease on Tuesday. So far 104 test results have been negative. The quarantine of 94 people on the contact list will end tomorrow. The quarantine of four people on the primary list and 90 people on the secondary list will end soon.

The District Collector ordered the withdrawal of the containment zone control in the disease-affected area.

A person has been admitted to Manjeri Medical College Hospital today with symptoms. 28 people have been admitted to Perinthalmanna MES Medical College Hospital and are continuing treatment. Psychological support was extended to 281 people through call centre facility.
