IDUKKI: Yet another life has been lost in a wild tusker attack in Kerala. A woman in Idukki’s Peruvanthanam was trampled to death by a tusker on Monday. Sophia Ismail (45) of Nellivila Puthan house in Peruvanthanam died in the incident. The elephant attacked her near the Travancore Rubber and Tea estate, in the area.

On Monday evening, Sophia went to take a bath near the stream in the area. Her relatives were concerned after she took more time than usual to return home. In the subsequent search conducted, her body was found in the estate area.

Sophia’s house is adjoining the forest area. She is the second victim of an elephant attack in Kerala this month. Vimalan (57), was killed in a wild tusker attack on February 6 in Marayoor, Idukki.
