Three trains including Jan Shatabdi granted new stop at this station; Railways' decision as follows

MALAPPURAM: Railways has granted new stops to three trains operating through Kerala. Three trains, including Jan Shatabdi, have been granted temporary stops at Kuttippuram railway station in Malappuram district. This is to accommodate the massive crowds expected for the Mahamagha Mahotsavam being held on the banks of Bharathapuzha.

The stops have been granted to the trains Antyodaya Express (Train No.: 16355), Kannur - Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi (Train No.: 12081), and Chennai - Mangalore Superfast (Train No.: 12685).

Union Minister Suresh Gopi announced this through a Facebook post. "Devotees and locals had approached me requesting that trains be allowed to temporarily stop at Kuttippuram railway station to facilitate the journey to Thirunavaya. The matter was brought to the attention of the Railway Ministry and a favorable decision was immediately taken," he wrote in the post.
