Children in Palakkad under treatment after drinking medicine for hoof disease mistaking as juice

PALAKKAD: Two brothers, who drank medicine for hoof disease, mistaking it as juice, have been hospitalized. Ambili (10) and Adidev (6), sons of Sreedevi of Alathur Venganoor are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Angamaly. The children are out of danger.


The incident happened at 7 pm on November 4. The children accidentally drank the medicine filled in a juice bottle. The children spat out the medicine due to the bad taste. The children suffered burns in their mouths and throats due to the acidity of the medicine for hoof disease.


The two were immediately taken to a private hospital in Erattakulam. After their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to a hospital in Angamaly. The medicine was purchased from the district veterinary hospital. The two are students of Venganoor GLP School.
