PALAKKAD: A complaint has been filed against Rapper Vedan for insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Palakkad Municipal Councilor Mini Krishnakumar filed the complaint with the NIA and the home department. It is alleged that the song 'Voice of the Voiceless' contains insulting remarks against the Prime Minister.
The song 'Voice of the Voiceless' released four years ago. It is also alleged that digital platforms are being used for promoting hatred, caste discrimination, and insulting personalities.

Mini said that she saw Vedan's song only now and if she had seen it earlier, she would have filed a case then. Mini asked whether it is fair to say that the Prime Minister is a pseudo-nationalist and a tyrant.

Even though everyone has the right to express, Vedan is an Indian citizen. Mini asked that he should act in the manner prescribed by the Constitution of India and where would he have been today if he was in other countries.

Hindu Aikya Vedi leader K P Sasikala had earlier insulted the rapper in harsh language. She said society is being humiliated in front of the naked dances of rappers like Vedan. He was criticized at a program organized by Hindu Aikya Vedi in front of the Palakkad Collectorate. Is rap music the unique art form of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes here? What all unique art forms do they have, asked Sasikala.
