Deep injury on forehead; mystery deepens over death of college student in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Mystery has deepened over the incident in which a college student was found dead at her house in Koyilandy. Doubts arose after injury marks were found on her body. The girl was found dead inside her home on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Sree Nanda, daughter of Anil, a native of Poyilkavu in Koyilandy. Police have launched an investigation.

Sree Nanda's parents had gone to a temple festival in the area last evening. When they returned home, they found their daughter lying unconscious. Although she was immediately rushed to a hospital, her life could not be saved.

Police said there were injuries about three centimetres deep on her forehead and chin. It is not yet clear how the injuries occurred. Following this, the police registered a case of unnatural death. The girl was found wearing her uniform. Police said the exact cause of death can be confirmed only after receiving the post-mortem report. The body has been shifted to the Medical College Hospital for further examination.
