THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Deepa Nisanth, writer and professor, on his Facebook post has responded to the tags and comments and mentions on the social media platform aimed at her in relation to the fund collection of Youth Congress to buy a car for Alathur MP Ramya Haridas.

Youth Congress Parliament Committee at Alathur has decided to buy a car worth Rs 14 lakhs for Ramya Haridas. The money for this will be raised through fund collection. Many have protested against this on social media. “Teacher, please donate 1000 for sister Ramya”- one of the comments under Deepa Nisanth’s post reads.

Deepa Nisanth questioned these comments by asking why she is getting tagged.

KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran had opined against the Youth Congress’ decision to gift a car. “Ramya should take a loan for buying a car”, he said.

Key to the car will be handed over to Ramya by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala.

Facebook post:

Asking this because I don’t understand.

Why am I getting tagged for Youth Congress’ fund collection to buy a vehicle for Alathur MP Mrs. Ramya Haridas?

I used Mrs. Because that’s what I saw in the donation receipt. Now don’t come up with a hashtag campaign saying that ‘Deepa Nisanth humiliated by using Mrs Ramya instead of Miss’.
