Father of two arrested for sexually assaulting female friend in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A man was arrested in Thrissur for sexually assaulting a woman on the pretext of marriage. The incident took place in Guruvayur. Nijo, a native of Chiriyankandath, was arrested by the Guruvayur temple police. The victim gave birth to a baby a few days ago.

The accused in the case, Nijo, is married and the father of two children. The complaint alleges that he concealed his marriage and raped the woman in the pretext of marriage. The accused, who was on the run, was picked up by the police from Ernakulam. The suspect, remanded in Chavakkad sub-jail, will be taken into police custody again for further evidence collection.
