Gopinathan Nair's death; Mohanlal reaches Amritanandamayi Math in Kollam

KOLLAM: Actor Mohanlal visited the Amritanandamayi Math to meet the bereaved family of his late uncle Gopinathan Nair. Mohanlal, who was abroad at the time of his uncle's death, reached the ashram to meet his relatives.

Mohanlal, who arrived with film producer and man Friday Antony Perumbavoor, was welcomed by senior monks. Mohanlal's maternal uncle Gopinathan Nair, passed away on the morning of the 7th due to age-related ailments.

Mohanlal met Gopinathan Nair's wife Radhabhai, daughter Gayathri, son-in-law Rajesh and granddaughter Devika and expressed condolences. The funeral of Gopinathan Nair, the former general manager of the Alappuzha District Cooperative Bank, was held under the chief priestship of Mata Amritanandamayi. It was Gopinathan Nair who christened the name 'Mohanlal' to the actor.

Mohanlal returned after meeting Mata Amritanandamayi and receiving her blessings.
