KOCHI: Out of the blue you feel a need to meet your dear friend now settled abroad. What all options are at your disposal? Most of it would not meet your expectations but wait, have you tried ‘Hey Friend’?

This AI app was created by the genius of 15-year-old Uday Shankar from Kochi. Download from the Play Store and enter your friend's name, character, age and picture. Open the app and then talk to the AI-generated image of your friend.

Uday Shankar, a native of Vytilla won many appreciations after he presented as many as five applications in the ongoing AI conclave in Kochi. ‘Hey Friend’ app has been downloaded by more than 100 people.

At the conclave, Uday also introduced an avatar called "Advaisa" which can be placed in public places like airports, and railway stations where passengers can enquire about anything related to travel. 'Advaisa' will reply in the language of your preference. Discussions are underway to bring this service to Kochi Metro.

Apps such as Finance where you can ask financial matters, 'Miss Vani' where you can ask doubts about health also gained attention.
