PALAKKAD: A copy of the sexual assault complaint filed against BJP state vice president C. Krishna Kumar by his sister-in-law has surfaced. In the complaint, she alleged that Krishna Kumar repeatedly attempted to sexually assault her after she was abandoned by her husband. She also claimed that her elder sister was withholding property that rightfully belonged to her and their mother. The woman said she had submitted a complaint on both the property dispute and sexual harassment to the North police station, but investigators later told the court that the sexual assault charge could not be substantiated. She raised the matter again in a petition to BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
The first complaint against Krishna Kumar was filed in 2014, alleging domestic violence and sexual harassment. FIRs were registered in both cases, but only the domestic violence case proceeded to court. Krishna Kumar has maintained that police had found no basis for the sexual assault charge. In the property dispute, a court ruled in favour of Krishna Kumar and his wife in 2023, and in 2024, they also secured a favourable verdict in the domestic violence case.
Responding to the controversy, the complainant said she had earlier approached the RSS state office in Elamakkara and raised the issue with senior BJP leaders including V. Muraleedharan and M.T. Ramesh. “They assured me that justice would be done and action would be taken against Krishna Kumar. But so far, no action has been taken,” she said.
